Bezoar goats are wild goats and the ancestors of our domestic goats. As early as 10,000 BC domestic goats were bred from Bezoar goats in the Near East, in the region of the Fertile Crescent. We do not know exactly how, but most likely people started keeping Bezoar goats in pens like fallow deer are kept today. Then they made sure that only those animals reproduced that could adapt to the conditions in the pen. This is how the domestic goat developed over many generations.
